I am really surprised neither of them ever took a head job in Pittsburgh.

    Head coaching job, I mean.

I saw a guy walking into a grocery store wearing a Red Sox jersey, and I almost asked him if he was getting fried chicken. Just think about the shit Penn State fans are going to hear for, well, forever.

I do fully understand I am going to burn in hell.

This is one of those moments where I wish Stuttering John was still around.

Why didn't this break a couple weeks ago? I could have gone with a Jerry Sandusky mask on and wore my Beckett jersey, while holding a bucket of fried chicken and a Natty Light.

Wow they really are following the Herman Cain playbook on this. First the pathetic press release, now these we're-not-going-to-answer-the-question rules.

When does Gloria Allred show up?

These morons, who have been able to bully the local media for decades, don't understand that this riles up the national media rather than making them docile.

I would have no problem if they shut down access completely. But this is absolutely absurd. I wonder how the local media are going to handle it. Can you really in good conscience show up and start asking about route running?

He did interview with UVa to replace George Welsh, when Grandmaster Groh was hired. Sandusky was considered a relatively serious candidate, but what I've heard is that UVa turned him down over worries his charity work would affect his focus on the job.

Welsh was an old Paterno assistant, and they were pretty close. I wonder if the old man tipped off someone at UVa that Sandusky was a potential PR headache.

In fairness, Penn State isn't the only major college to bully beat writers. But you could say they take it to a new level there.

Paterno's still in the State College phone book. Why would any reporter on the story wait until tomorrow?

I'm not sure if they are trying to bully them as much as they are in way, way, way over their head at this point. Those guys are trained to put together stat packages, not this. At this point, the university public relations staff needs to step in and handle this lest it become an even bigger debacle than it already is.
