Bullshit. YF insists that every fucking person on the street knew. Message board insanity.

How about this, important people knew. This was not a deep secret.

Or are we still defending the maker of men?

No, that's fine. Anyone who actually knew is fair game.

If it was 10% of the priests the Chur h knew who they were and instead of acting on it, saving children from a lifetime of torment, the Church further abused the kids and moved the priests around. Allowing them to molest more kids. Like sending the priests on a world wide buffet of young boys.

The molesters are sick criminals. But the church created and perpetrated a hell on earth for 100's of thousands of people. No good the church can and will ever do will make up for their inherent evil.

And paterno was nothing more than another evil bishop who didn't care. Fuck his rotting corpse to eternal damnation.

Repent Penn State. Repent Catholic Church.

This isn't as important as the actual crime, but how fucking stupid are the people in charge at PSU who green-lighted this lawsuit? And where the fuck did their attorneys go to law school?

How in the holy hell could they not see this was going to air more dirty laundry?

Since Chef saw fit to call me out -- why he felt the need, that's for him to answer -- I'll say one thing. Then I'm not commenting on this again.

I get this. I fully get this. Paterno did something that cannot be reconciled. And with each layer that's uncovered, he's more culpable than was believed before.

Most people who grew up with him have faced that. Some of them are so tone-deaf or so set in their beliefs that they aren't going to change.

    But here's the other part.

What everybody under 50 -- and that's a majority -- has no frame of reference about is that Paterno is the guy Pennsylvanians used to watch on Sunday TV with his PBS show. The guy Pennsylvanians heard gave millions to the PSU library. A guy who was, to a lot of that generation, Pennsylvania in a nutshell.

I'm just saying it's been a pretty seismic adjustment to turn somebody who was held as an icon earlier in life into a villain.

Alabama, if you swear you wouldn't have had the same problem had this been the Bear, I beg to disagree. Nebraska? Tom Osborne? Yes, you'd have trouble having your belief system shaken to this degree.

I've managed to do it. More than me have managed to do it. But don't discount the price. The loss of believing in something is NOT easy.

If you need to weigh in with one-liners about it, go for it. If you have to go after me after three years, Chef, enjoy. But I won't be answering any of it. Ever again.

Just admit you were wrong, not that hard.

Wonder how many people in the local media heard the rumors and didn't do anything, either.

I loved my Dad very much. I'm sorry he died last year. Weird question on this thread.
