How so?

First of all, my argument is much more medical than legal.

Second of all, I don't like it that politicians basically use sex offenders to score cheap political points. They do it all the time, trampling their civil liberties, essentially, because they know that the public will support anything up to and include public hangings. I find that distasteful, at best.

I've seem you medical arguments about depression, I'm not inclined to take you seriously when it comes to medical arguments. You're right, pedophiles aren't the lowest of the low, the people who defend and make excuses for them are.

I shouldn't have to point this out, but just because someone feels badly about a pedophile's predicament doesn't mean that that someone is defending/excusing the pedophile's actions.

Because they are suffering from mental illness and not fully in charge of their actions. Same reason that I would feel bad about someone suffering from cancer or any other disease.

They may say Joe's body is ailing more than he thought so he is taking a leave of absence. That wouldn't be entirely false. He has been in the pressbox anyway. Then he leaves permanently at season's end along with everyone else on his staff.

To me this seems plausible. They have shown they are not going to answer anyway.

Otherwise, they do nothing until the season is over. Joe already is not talking so why would he talk next week or the week after or ...

Of course, I would hate to be the interim coach to answer to questions weekly.

"I'm not Joe, you'd have to ask him.

"Um, I'm not Joe, you have to ask him."

"For the 792nd time, I'm not Joe."
