TeamBud -- but how is "fondling or something of a sexual nature" ambiguous? You are saying that you're drawing a line between whether there was actual penetration, which would be bad, or merely Sandusky massaging the boy's penis, which would not be so bad.

I can't understand what the degree of difference is. And it's completely incomprehensible when factoring in Paterno's prior knowledge of Sandusky's behavior.

Paterno supposedly wanted to talk about the scandal.

If you believe that, I have a fucking oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.

Millen now on with Fowler. Saying Paterno was denied the right to speak at the presser today.

    FUCK THAT SHIT.

Joe wanted nothing to do with that.

Is there anyone who thinks Paterno would have been anything other than eaten alive today?

I am sure at some point during this whole megaclusterdisaster JoePa has felt he has been getting dumped on by the media and wanted to come out with "his side of the story," and with the incompetent/idiotic media/legal advice he appears to be getting I am sure somebody in the whole nutty chain of command said, "yeah!! that sounds like a great idea!!!" but at some point somebody with at least one firing brain cell had to dump ice water on the idea.

Actually, I would not be surprised if he did want to speak.

If Matt Millen cries on television one more time today, I'm gonna be sicker than I already am.

Fowler essentially telling him to quit being a Penn State homer for a second, and to think of it from the father/grandfather point of view.

Better treatment than what happened over the years to those kids.

I'm saying that Sandusky had been investigated and cleared before. If someone tells me, "I may have seen Sandusky doing something with another boy," I might think this is another situation that looked bad but wasn't. Especially if it wasn't urgent enough to go to the police or report that day. I'll have it investigated by the proper authorities.

If someone tells me, "I just saw Sandusky raping a kid in the shower," my reaction will be different. First I'll say "Why the fuck did you wait a day to report THAT?" and then I'll go to the cops.

Sandusky's crimes are extreme (God, at least I hope this is the worst stuff out there in college sports today) but the level of cover-up here is possible at absolutely any big-time school. The money train is so out of control that anything can be brushed under the rug, from a QB stealing radios to this. I hope people are grasping that.

The system is broken in far more ways than a player not being able to get a free cheeseburger.

Let's hope you aren't around children very often.

And why did it take TEN for Curley to interview McQueary? You hear an allegation of a child being diddled in a shower on YOUR campus and your reaction is "ehh, I'm busy this week. Maybe next week."
