    About the scandal.

    What's the point?

People are already screaming for his head. There is nothing to gain by him coming out, and blasting Sandusky, IMO.

If he wanted to speak, leave 20 minutes earlier for practice.....have the fucking thing in your front yard....on your turf.....with your script...with your lawyer kid right by you..what is Penn State going to do, fire you? ..Fuck that....he's 84 years old.

Yep. I was going to start a thread asking "who or what is good in Division I sports?" but I couldn't come up with a first example.

So does the NCAA step in here? If the idea of the "Death Penalty" can come up at the University of Miami for paying players and a bad booster, where does this land on the spectrum as far as punishment from the governing body of college athletics?

It doesn't. They couldn't give a shit less about laws, morals or the real world. They need Penn State to be the premier football program in the densely populated Northeast.

He must be a nightmare of a client for any attorney. Can't recall who said it, but I remember an attorney saying something to the effect of, "I don't require my clients take my advice, but I do require that they listen to it."

Lack of institutional control. Indictments, coverups, failure to bar suspected molester. Got to be something about moral turpitude in those hundreds of pages.

It's a legal matter, not an NCAA matter.

What can the NCAA do? It's empowered to enforce its own rules, but nothing else. This involves violations of criminal statutes, not NCAA rules. The criminal justice system is responsible for this mess, it's way beyond the NCAA's authority.

Yeah, the NCAA isn't the Baseball Hall of Fame!
