Yeah, while we're all piling on Penn State, deservedly, there's no doubt in mind that this could happen anywhere. And probably has.

If there is more damning evidence than what was in the GJ report, please let me know - I haven't been able to read a lot of other things today. Most of what I've seen just rehashes that report, which is very light on Paterno's knowledge/involvement.

So you believe that a coach who is famous for his reputation, knew that Sandusky was guilty of those charges that were cleared, knew that he was continuing to do more and worse things to other boys, and allowed him to maintain presence on campus and association with the University? Why would he do that? I need evidence of this kind of evil more than I need evidence of the other possibility. Without evidence, I can believe he was too wrapped up in other things or maybe even intentionally ignorant more than I can believe that he knew all this and let it continue.

I don't know if this was posted yet, but Matt Millen started crying on Sportscenter about Sandusky:

Intentional ignorance equals negligence in many legal matters.

He should leave the program, but then again, he should have left the program years ago, when he realized that Sandusky was still being invited into the program. I wouldn't want to be associated with that.

You mean the investigation that cleared Paterno?

Agreed. That's what I'd like to know: did he not know, did he intentionally avoid any information because he didn't want to know, or did he know and not do anything? Those are different levels of involvement/incompetence that would change what I think of him.

No, the internal investigation that allowed a predatory pedophile to continue to sexually abuse and assualt children using his connections with the PSU football department.

I'm still just stunned the administration decided to tell Sandusky to quit bringing boys to campus and took away his locker room keys and thought "Well, we did our moral duty on that one!"

For a guy who likes facts and logic you sure make some leaps here and give me a lot of shit for refusing to do the same.

If waiting to get Paterno's side of the story is fanboi, then I'm guilty.

Epic fail, from the janitors up to the university president and everyone in between.

    Legally. Maybe. For now.

Not morally. He was told what happened. Maybe not in exacting detail, but enough. And all we know of is that he reported it to his hand-picked AD and then let it drop. How the fuck do you let that drop AND still have Sandusky around?

Seriously, dude, take off the blue and white for a bit. You're nowhere near as bad as TeamBud on this, but jeez.
