He will. But it would be really something if the media refused to play along. This story is just too, too big.

And to that end, I'm not impressed with how it's being played in some outlets. It's like "let's get today's games out of the way first, then we'll deal with a massive scandal."

I'm not either and really have to wonder how this would have played if it had been a longtime former assistant at Miami or Auburn or UCLA and not The Revered One's Program.

I think a leave of absence (with retirement to come quietly once the season ends) will be in order. Penn State could try to coach him to go into "no comment" mode, but the line of questioning is going to be emotional. He's bound to say something stupid and embarrassing if he gets defensive.

    OR...

Complete emotional breakdown with crying. Lots of remorse.

We get posts like this every time there is sports scandal but it never fucking happens.

And you know why? It's not because the writers are homers. It's because the writers don't want to lose their jobs when they come back with zero copy for tomorrow's paper.

Let the news guys handle the news. You've still got to put out a sports section.

Jim Delany has to love the fact that his first conference championship game could include Penn State this year.

This is the shocker to me. There is a crime going on by one of your employees on your school grounds and you basically do NOTHING? WTF.

I think Paterno, Curley and Graham Spanier are all going to be out of work within the next couple of months. Spanier has been there since 1995 so I dont see any way this guy's can plead ignorance.

Agreed ... but I keep remembering that firsst pseudo-news conference Tiger Woods gave after his troubles first arose. What a farce.

Tough, play. It's the game we're in.

Actually, I think it's a little naive -- idealistic, I suppose -- of you to believe that a healthy number of our readers aren't going to want to turn their attention to the Nebraska game. Sports are more than fun and games to some of these fans. And if you don't give them that, they will turn on you.

So Paterno knew about it - and still let Sandusky onto his practice field with kids. Despicable. And the D.A. says Paterno did the right thing in this situation? Insane. What Sandusky is alleged to have done - insanely despicable. I was going to say someone with two sons this whole thing really sends a shiver down my spine, but it would do so even if I had no kids.
