I think they are going to surprise a few people. The cup board is not bare. There is still talent there to win a few games. Five are expected, six would nice, seven would be outstanding.
Hey, who knows? They may find a way to go unbeaten. Things happen.

If you take a Penn State transfer this season it counts against the 25 players you can sign next year whether you cut a guy or not.

USC, Cal? Wonder if these guys are choosing left coast schools just to get as far away from this mess as geographically possible.

Fortt said God told him to go to Berkeley.

God has never told anyone to go to Berkeley. Satan has, but not God.

Well, if you're leaving a great academic school like PSU, you'd clearly want to transfer to someplace like CAL.

Freshman defensive lineman Jami Pollard to Rutgers.

Right now that leaves 62 returning players for the 2013 season with 12 kids committed.

Take a look at the schedule. The ball would have to bounce their way a time or two, but it's not completely out of the question that they go into OSU at 7-0.

That said, I'd put a realistic guess at around 6-6.

I would not be surprised if Ohio pops 'em in the opener.

Their most important offensive player just bailed, as did several other key players, from a team that really wasn't all that good last year. And those are some thin, thin scholarship numbers. They'll be lucky to be 4-3 after seven games.

It is a significant upgrade on the academic front.
