    Is there a difference?

Misguided soul is someone who is usually a screwup. Morally bankrupt is not caring about child rape to do anything about it, or thinking you're being personally punished, despite being just a fan.

That's your definition. In both cases, in my definition, the person is misguided. I just preferred to use that term.

Did anyone in your newsroom cover up the arrest and conviction? If they did, then they should have been thrown out on their asses. And there have been plenty of stories on the Journalism thread of arrests and info that could be embarrasing to the paper being left out of the paper.

I'll put it another way. Several times in my journalism career, a worker elsewhere in the company has done something that was considered unethical. That worker was punished.
And the rest of us had to sit through ethics training sessions and sign statements promising to be ethical. Now, should we have had to attend those sessions and sign those statements, even though none of us had done anything wrong?

All the name calling accomplishes nothing except put others on the defensive.

Here's who is selling those shirts. I fired off a critical e-mail for the hell of it. I'm sure it won't make a damn bit of difference.

It would be a shame if the people who were looking for excuses for those who enabled child rape were made to feel defensive.

Nailed that one. I will forever root for 0-12 seasons from PSU, not so much because of the players on the field, but because of everyone else associated with that school and their inability to own up to what happened and take their punishment.

No it doesn't. Words have meaning. The attempt to soft sell the actions as "misguided" instead of morally reprehensible is a tone deaf move at best and an ultra douche move at worst.

Thank you. I just find it troubling that so many people at Penn State actually think defiance is the appropriate response right now. I sort of understand the football coach taking that approach. He thinks that is the best way to try to hold together what is left of the program. But the powers that be at Penn State should be telling him to keep it behind closed doors. They don't seem to be doing that, just one more bit of proof that far too many people at Penn State still don't get it.

Edit: Iron_chet makes a tremendous point. I've heard some whining on this board about the ongoing attack on Penn State. Y'all want to know why it keeps happening? Because y'all actually keep defending them and because you have idiots like those four trustees who keep trying to fight back.

I totally disagree. Name calling is not going to change what has happened. I don't think anyone is proud of what has occurred.

The girl on the left looks a bit tentative.
