TP, I just want to say that I don't agree with your post but I understand and respect where you are coming from.

Jeez, if it was the wrong decision and it was not to protect the football program, who was it done to protect? Please don't tell me that you think it was to protect Sandusky from unfounded scrutiny. Because that's exactly why high ranking officials would sweep something under the rug. Here's their thinking:

"Um if this ever gets out, the whole university is going to feel the wrath of the legal system and public opinion."

    "But its Mr. Sandusky."

    "Who's he?"

    "The assistant, defensive coordinator."

"Well, okay if its him, of course we'll put the entire university at risk."

Putting willful ignorance aside, the decision to put the entire university at risk was solely to protect JoePa's legacy and continue the facade of how "great" and unblemished PSU football was.

Of course, who the hell wanted this exposed anyway? Has anyone benefitted from any of this? I suspect ALL of them just wanted it to go away quietly.

You mean other than every boy in the area and their families and friends? The entire community?

You mean other than them, right?

    Exactly.

Saying that everyone wanted it to go away is just ignoring the reality of putting the eventual victims at risk.

Disagree. The entire community has not benefitted in any way, shape or form by this.

Look, we have stuff like the Sandusky thing happening all the time here. All you got to do is pick up the paper if you want to read about it. I choose not to do so, because I don't want to dwell on things like that. I have enough crud in my life without thinking about the man down the street might be doing behind closed doors.

The community does not benefit from having a serial molester and rapist removed from it?

You want to explain that position?

Of course, its Darwinian at its best. Survival of the fittest and those who fail, tough luck. Morality means nothing.

Sex abusers get sentenced everyday without putting the whole community/state/nation in an uproar. This thing has gotten more press than the theater shooting in Colorado. Been way, way, way overdone.

It's one thing to have a trial and verdict. Even to have civil suits. But this has gone much, much further. Suspend the entire football program? Scholarship limitations? Vacating results from years ago? Uproar over a statue?

That wasn't what you said. You said the community did not benefit from having Sandusky uncovered, indicted, tried and incarcerated.

I am wondering what kind of thought process leads you to make such a statement.

The same kind of thought process that was evident on a now-deleted thread where he told "a friend" who didn't know anything about Sandusky all the accusations against him, and "the friend" responded by saying "Is that all?"

It is attention-whore trolling. Nothing more, nothing less.
