It's worth noting Posnanski was "bad-ass" enough to call out Allard Baird for baseball decisions, but reduced Paterno's "mistake" to a "single, hazy event." That type of behavior shows just what type of man Posnsnski is, not much of one if he cowers in front of anyone with power.

Does he save the tough questions for a GM over a sixth-round draft selection?

He still hasn't has the balls to discuss the "single, hazy event" bull. At this point, he can't be trusted to do anything that requires grit and a tough edge.

I won't because I never found Paterno particularly compelling, even in his better days.
And Posnanski's writing isn't my cup of tea.
But even non-sports fans know about this story, and continue to talk about it.
I just don't see the book faltering that badly.

  4. As a former Penn State fan and admirer of JoePa ... I have NO intention of reading this book.
Quite honestly, I have no interest.
The excerpts I have seen still paint Paterno is a sad, sick old man who still comes off as a victim.

Paterno was a fan of opera -- but didn't know what the word "sodomy" meant?

Remember when Posnanski's defenders said wait for the book and we'll know what kind of journalist he really is? Well, I'm left without doubt.
