I was in the car and listened to the end of the Penn State call of the game on XM. The PBP guy says something about the fan support, and says (pretty close paraphrase): "These fans have been so great today. The fans and this whole campus has been through so much this summer ..."

Yep, the fans and campus are the real victims.

I realize it's tough to be a live radio guy when dealing with something like this - but good God, have a little bit of thought about what you're saying.

 

I'm not following this. What did the fans do wrong? The guy never said they were the real victims. Get a grip.

The fans have been through a lot because of something they had nothing to do with. Their school has been vilified nationally for months, and rightly so, but what would you like the guy to say?

 

How about not a fucking thing about what a horrible ordeal the fans and campus has gone through? How about "These fans have turned out in force today and been great" and leave it at that?
