That would be Penn State play by play man and resident nut slurper Steve Jones. I heard the same thing in my car and came away with the same impression. Further prooof that it is all about and their suffering. Hey Stevie, wanna take a guess on who has it worse between victims and the fans?

    Fair enough.

You really believe he thinks the fans have been through worse than the assault victims? Jesus. Not everything from here on out involving Penn State has to be about the victims. I understand the anger ... it sickens me too. But there were also tributes, and I'm sure mentions during the various broadcasts, of the REAL victims. The fans DID have a rough summer because of something that did not involve them. Don't understand the complete hatred of everything Penn State because of what happened there.

If it didn't involve them, then how could they have had a rough summer?

Because their university was vilified nationally for several months? Rightly so, but with the exception of the JoePa sycophants, which I realize are numerous, most of the fans/students don't deserve the scorn they have endured.

The campus and fans are being penalized for something they had nothing to do with. I suspect that might be his point.

Except they did indirectly have to do with it. They were the main reason the administration felt so much pressure to sweep the whole thing under the rug.

Even if that was the case, there are times when sentiments are better left unsaid - like the first game after arguably the worst scandal in the history of college sports hits right there. Sorry, I'm not one of those who would say "Is that all?" when hearing about Sandusky's actions ...

And if the fanbase and campus is penalized, I can live with it. Especially when you've got clowns like Franco Harris bringing a Paterno cutout and setting it up next to him in a luxury suite.

Maybe I'm just too oversensitive and think the "punch back" mindset came a little too quickly, given everything that happened.

Sorry. I can't agree with this at all. The atmosphere is almost identical at every college football power.

I can respect that. But, this is where I agree with you most:
