    It’s a year to ... supposedly ... get back into the swing of things scholarly. Which is a joke because that’s not how it works. It’s a year’s ... severance. No expectations of output accompany it.

    So more or less he says he was going to retire soon anyway and that he never really had any indication anything was happening but you can always look back and learn. And Michigan State just keeps the status quo running. Nothing to see here.
