You can walk it back all you want, but that’s not what you wrote. Your howls have all the credibility of ... howls.

Prosecutors don’t charge rape cases they’re not pretty confident they can win.

For, if they lose, it deters the next victim from coming forward.

They’re not “bought off” in almost all cases. Goodness.

They can win these cases, though. But in college towns with athletes, it’s pretty well proven that other considerations are at play. Solid cases don’t move forward, and there’s pressure. The MSU basketball players were dead to rights, one of them basically confessed and the case still went nowhere.

I’d have to know what those considerations are. Rape cases are hard to win. They may become harder when a celebrity college athlete is the guy charged, but when these prosecutors get hung juries on rape cases - I know one - their hearts often break.

Like someone else we know, you had the makings of a good idea once and just went too far.

I agree in cases where the defendants are not in high profile cases in jurisdictions where the University is akin to a 14th century Cathedral

Do the Republicans currently in charge of Michigan government realize this is an election year? No sentient member of the party should want any part of the MSU situation. The child rape cover-up party isn't a real good banner for November.
