    He's faultly wired.

Let's hope the change brings him piece of mind.

Also seems like Christina Kahrl of Baseball Prospectus is happy, both personally and professionally.

Though oldtony's post, and really this entire thread, keeps making me think of Mike Penner and how so incredibly sadly his/Christine's story ended.

If Reggie does that, wouldn't that nullify the label of being the straw that stirs the drink?

I think this was just a publicity stunt to get away from Kris Jenner. :D

He could've just spiked her drink with aspartame and watched her die.

    Ooh, that's cold!

Maybe vaccinated her too while he was at it.

Sounds like what people said about homosexuals in previous generations. Not that they were right.

It's not a derogatory statement, jr/shot. That's how he's wired. Born man, Wants to be woman.

I've always been struck by this dichotomy:

Homosexual: This is how God made me. Please accept me. Don't try to "cure" or change me.

Transgender: This is how God made me. I can't accept it and must try to change it.

I watched the whole interview. This is what struck me.

The first part, when he actually had to let out the news of the interview--that he's been transitioning--was difficult and emotional. But after that start, I was inspired by how happy he was in every moment following. It was as if that first moment, actually saying it out loud, lifted a tremendous burden.

I do not know a transgendered person personally. I wish I did, but it's not like I have a personal connection to the community. And still, I felt empowered by it. This person is finally on the path to living the life he always wanted to.

If you have criticisms of how he handled it and how he will handle it in the future, fine. But I was moved by it, and I'm sure others were as well. I'm happy it was shown to the public. I hope it does good and maybe even saves some lives.

Even assuming anyone is attributed homosexuality and/or transgender status to g-d, you are comparing two different things. Homosexuality is a sexual orientation. Transgender is gender identification. One can be both transgender and homosexual.

A transgender person is accepting how he or she was born - accepting there is a mismatch between his/her gender identification and his/her assigned at birth gender. Part of that acceptance may or may not be gender reassignment surgery.
