    Gordon Lightfoot deserves a mention here, too ... not just on the Edmund Fitzgerald thread.

    He has a bunch of great songs, but this is him at his peak:

    I was kind of stunned by that One Voice Children's Choir's rendition of "Memories" - even more stunned to realize it was a Maroon 5 cover. Figured it was from some old musical I wasn't aware of - it has a classic vibe (which M5 obscured the way they produced their version) that sounds like a song that's been around forever.
    Edit - oh, duh - Pachabel's Canon in D - of course.
