One thing the phone records prove is that Petrino and the girl didn't just have some sort of sordid sexual affair; they clearly were having a romance.

There's no excusing what Petrino, a 50-year-old in power, did...but what kind of woman is engaged to be married but has a long-running sordid affair with a guy her dad's age?

Maybe I should borrow the word from Rush Limbaugh. The swim coach should be thanking his lucky stars he avoided marrying that nightmare.

 

FWIW I've seen it reported a couple places that this wasn't Dorrell's first engagement. Supposedly she was engaged to a former UA football player a couple of years back.

Petrino deserved to be fired for sheer stupidity. The guy was making millions and he was using a government provided cell phone- which is a matter of public record- to contact his mistress. BUY A PERSONAL PHONE FOR THOSE CALLS, MORON. Did you learn nothing from Houston McNutt?

 

I don't usually agree with Rush but I do in this case.
