I don't think she will get fired. She was not screwing a subordinate, he was.

I would imagine what is happening now is that they are figuring out the settlement number so that her and the school can part ways and Ms Dorrel "will be wished the best of luck in future endeavors".

  3. Why do you think that is a lawsuit?

  4. If she's on paid leave they are going to can her. Book it.

I can only assume that no one involved ever watched The Wire.

ALWAYS use a burner (pre-paid cell phone), have someone drive out of state to buy them, never buy more than 2 at any one location, always pay in cash. That makes it very difficult for Lester and any other investigators to get up on your phone.

How much easier life could be if one applies the valuable life lessons to be learned from Stringer Bell.

Well, Orville, she was not in a position of power in the relationship, and thus cannot be fired for cause for what she did with Petrino. A firing and her filing of a sexual harassment suit would be pretty much simultaneous

She could be fired for inappropriate conduct, failure to disclose the relationship, improper use of university-issued communications equipment, lot of other reasons. The only thing that would get the school in legal trouble would be firing her and not firing Petrino.

But a cash settlement is the most expedient solution, so that is what will happen.

All of the above would be fruit of the poisoned apple os harassment, feeling as if she had to do what she did to keep her job. At least that's how her billionaire lawyer will paint it

Wait, the adult was hired, legally, at least from her end and was in a consensual relationship. She was never at fault. She's entitled to the civil service protections that all university employees enjoy (I believe she's a university employee). She did nothing wrong. If you fire her now, you've got to prove that she did something wrong.

You want to blame people, blame the people who are paid to ensure that your tax dollars are being spent correctly and not just to keep someone's lover happy. That would be the athletic director, and going down.

Plus... No she wasn't in a position of power, however and the affair started before she was hired. Remember she was given the job, according to school officials, because she had an advantage over the other candidates, i.e. the affair.

She's getting canned. And I doubt she'll fight it. A settlement wouldn't be outside the realm of possibilities.

She was given the advantage, she did not create the advantage. She had no part in the hiring decision; that's the crux of the situation, as distasteful as it may be to you. That hiring decision was entirely out of her control and you cannot (at least in Cal.) penalize her for the decision. Now if she committed some sort of fraud on the application or interview, okay, but short of that? You're stuck with her.
