I'm thinking this is brilliantly played PR. Fess up to the crime; administrative leave for discipline and a full investigation; fresh and ready to go by fall.

Clay Travis wrote that this could be a particularly brilliant way for Petrino to get out of his buyout clause. Obviously not true, but I wouldn't put it past Petrino.
