Petrino - not riding solo (and fired at Louisville)

No, as I said above, Petrino was far worse. But that doesn't mean Dorrell, also an adult, doesn't share in the blame. There is a big difference between being inappropriately propositioned by a superior and having a person you are already in a relationship with jump you over more qualified applicants for a job you don't deserve.

She sure the hell wasn't the perpetrator. And I don't think I would classify her as a victim, though her life from here on out will almost surely go rougher than Petrino's. But Petrino was the perpetrator, plain and simple. She didn't put a gun to Petrino's head to make him do anything. The two other candidates have nothing to do with Dorrell.

Yes, they do. Snaking someone out of a job they otherwise would have gotten and taking someone out of a job they already had are exactly the same thing. If Petrino had hired one of the other applicants and then fired him/her to hire Dorrell, would you feel the same way? Because that is no different then what happened here.

There seems to be enough there that Gloria Allred or someone like her will get a lot of money out of the State of Arkansas if Dorrell is fired.

The decision was Petrino's. If he showed favoritism, that's on him.

Hunh? For what? The people who ought to be lawyering up are the two people profiled in the SI article; one of whom should have gotten the job. I'll post this question again: If Petrino fired someone already on staff to hire Dorrell, would you view her differently? If so, why? Choosing Dorrell over the most qualified person is the same thing as firing someone who is already there to hire Dorrell. What on earth could Dorrell sue over? What cause of action does she have? I imagine she, like most university employees, has a morality/embarassment clause in her contract. She violated it. She was given a job she did not deserve. Employees in these type jobs are typically changed at the leisure of the next coaching staff.

Aside from how she got it, how do we know she didn't deserve it? Because she's blond, and a 7 or 8 to most people except Azrael? Again, did she take a gun to Petrino's head and force him to hire her? It's all on Petrino, the person with the power in the situation.

Way too many questions. You made my hair hurt and spelled "embarrassment" wrong.

Find me one post where I offered any opinion/ranking of Ms. Dorrell. I am using the objective criteria that the SI piece listed. The position called for experience with football. The other two finalists had it. She didn't. The criteria (I'm going from memory here) called for a master's degree. The other two had it. She didn't. One of the other finalists played in the SEC and played in the NFL. The other one (female) is a law student who had helped Arkansas run summer camps before and lists Petrino as a reference. SI story did a great job listing the qualifications of three of the 100+ applicants for the job. She came in third out of the three. No lawsuit for her, and it would be an "embarrassment" for her to attempt one.

I don't think Arkansas is going to want to have to explain in court why the alleged third-best candidate of three got the job. There'll be a settlement.
