Maybe Mrs. Petrino will get together with Mr. Pitino and they can make some little ninos.

Has there been any confirmation of the story yet? I don't think anyone was taking victory laps. I would still wager she comes out of this with significantly more than 14K.

Arkansas announced Tuesday night that Dorrell, 25, had resigned from her position as student-athlete development coordinator with the football program. Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long said in the press release that the decision was in the best interest for both parties.

“While Ms. Dorrell had a legitimate right to apply for and accept a position within the football program, the circumstances surrounding the former coach’s decision to hire her compromised her ability to be effective in such a position,” Long said in the press release. “She and I believe she should have the opportunity to move on.”

Arkansas said Dorrell’s resignation came with the understanding she “would not attempt to sell or profit from her affiliation with Razorback Athletics.”

The university also is paying Dorrell “approximately $14,000” as part of what it has called a “settlement and resolution of all matters between the parties.”

So basically if she tries to sell her story, they'll claw back the $14,000. Which pretty much just establishes the opening bid at $15,000.

    a 6 doesn't get paid $15,000 for her story.

How do you know this to be correct?

I do not. I said earlier it was likely because usually public service employees after a probationary period get job protections. If I'm wrong, then there is no reason to give her a settlement; just say you don't like her hair and fire her.

I thought I read she was hired on March 28th, which would still leave us clearly in a probationary timeframe, generally up to 90 days from what I've seen.

I'd think it would make that new opening bid at least $28,001. A bid of $15K (and then having to give back $14K) would make it a net gain of just $1K for Dorrell.

Seems like that's pretty much what they did, with $14,000 as a lovely parting gift.

    Thanks for playing!

  12. Not necessarily.. They can sue and go after any money she receives as a result of breaching her agreement.
