Petrino spent part of his downtime watching The Wire. Now he knows about burner phones.

When I heard that Mr. Cuckold went ahead and married her not too long ago, I laughed my ass off.

    That bastard's already whipped.

Has there been a major college coach who was really successful in his second stint at a school?

Johnny Majors was a disaster the second time at Pittsburgh.

John Robinson was decent the second time at USC (he did win the Rose Bowl in his third year), but he never finished in the Top 10 and his fourth and fifth years (once he was playing with all his own recruits) were mediocre.

Johnny Vaught came back for one year at Ole Miss as interim coach in 1973 (he retired in 1970 following a mid-season heart attack), but retired again after going 5-3.

    Anybody I'm missing?

(I don't count Robert Neyland on this list, since his tenure at Tennessee was interrupted by World War II).

EDIT: Forgot about Bill Snyder. Duh.

Bill Walsh II was so/so, Mike Riley at Oregon State has been pretty good.

Bill Snyder has been decent in his second coming at K-State, compared to the disastrous Ron Prince interregnum.

No link, but apparently Yahoo says hiring Petrino is "imminent."

    It's time for a Petrino/Pitino/Porcini's takeout ad.

"We'll get you out fast and spill-free!"
