Petrino - not riding solo (and fired at Louisville)

There was no way in hell for Arkansas to keep Petrino. He lied to his superiors and to the media about his accident, and he hired someone purely for being his slampiece. (Thanks for that word, buckweaver!) That goes far beyond any rehab attempts.

Are your hands in your hoodie pocket or are you just glad to see them?

I could understand the move if the last Louisville coach was a failure, but it's a good job. They could have gotten someone just as good without the baggage.

For sure. It's a terrible commentary on the state of college sports that we value wins and losses more than character.

On one hand, I truly hope Petrino has learned his lessons and acts differently. On the other hand, it's hard to sell that to so many others who aren't getting second and third chances, or in many cases, even a first chance to be a head coach.

Its just a weird place we're at, when completely odious, despicable people like Bobby Petrino lie and whore and sell themselves out year after year, and most people just go "okay".

It's not like that is anything new. If somebody wants what your talent can deliver they'll deal with your baggage, at least until the baggage starts to outweigh the results. It doesn't matter if it's sports, business, politics, whatever.

I put the blame on Jurich. He's the one responsible for making the decisions. If some overzealous booster is trying to twist his arm, he should have the backbone to say no.

Why can't Petrino leave? If he beats Florida State for the ACC championship he will have offers.

I had to laugh when he said he was emotionally and contractually tied to Louisville in his presser. How many contracts has he jumped. And emotionally I think his connection is to how much he gets paid.

The hotter the woman or the more successful the football coach determines how much leeway they get on their transgressions.

Bobby should get in touch with me.

I can help him keep this job and still have all the fun.

Have a hard time seeing ol' Bobby hanging out at Barnes & Noble.

We've missed you, freqposter. The cornfields outside of SJville have been mighty boring without you.
