Petrino - not riding solo (and fired at Louisville)

Just watched the AD's presser from last night. He looks PISSED off. I'm sure some of his "deciding what course to take" is going to include talking to the school's lawyers and seeing what their options are.

For being an SEC football school, Arkansas does have to deal with some fairly aggressive media. I'm not sure the school can sit on this and do nothing for a few months while allowing reporters to dig around and see what dirt (which should be plentiful) they can find on Petrino.

My FB feed is inundated with Arkansas fans defending Petrino. Every single one of them. I mocked them by posting that as long as he keeps winning, he can kill puppies at midfield during halftime of every home game. And people "liked" it. What the fuck?

The big winner in all this: Mississippi.

IF he does show up at Hoover, I hope the first question is "how's Jessica?" or something to that effect.

    "Still cheating?"

    "You get your bike fixed?"

    "Attended any swim meets?"

There's enough media there with plenty of stones to let him have it. I may just fly in to watch.

Right now, university lawyers are probably going through every HR file. If they find one supervisor fired for having a similar relationship with a subordinate, the AD might not be allowed to make a decision. It will already have been made.

Brian Kelly all but killed a student manager, and joked about covering up a possible rape and subsequent suicide of a Notre Dame coed.

A big time college football coach can do anything.

You would hope that would be the case.

There are some pretty damn good beat writers covering Arkansas, who hopefully will come up with even more dirt if it's out there...

If the AD doesn't have the good sense to fire him, the President should fire both of them.

    This isn't a tough decision.

Certain actions are fireable offenses. This is one of them, and it doesn't matter who you are.

I'm no Hogs fan, but it is hard to criticize what Petrino's bosses have done so far. They found out about this ugliness yesterday morning and put him on leave the same day. I'm sure they want their lawyers fully prepared if they are going to fire him for cause. They may very well go the weasel route, but right now people are anticipating the foul, as it were.

As a mini-threadjack, let's come up with a list of questions that we hope someone asks if he does show up in Hoover. ONE question per poster, please.

    "So, you like 'em leggy?"

  11. "Did you hit it from the back line?"

    Except me, I get two:

"Coach, you have two daughters. What would you think if they engaged in this type of behavior with a man your age who was married?"
