Petrino - not riding solo (and fired at Louisville)

I knew there would be some variation on Easy Rider at some point and I am not disappointed.

 

Joe Schad has him fired too. As do all the in-Arkie media guys.

 

RIP Freq's and Petrino's status as gods, both on the same day.

 

So are the beat writers ecstatic that this prick is going to be gone?

Advice to Arkansas: name a staffer as an interim coach. There are not many good coaches available in April.

 

According to the Twitter, Petrino refused the AD's punishment and got hisowndamnself fired for that.

 

I just don't trust anything Schad reports.

They're going to go the Luke Fickell route and give Taver Johnson the job for this season then hire the best guy on the market in December.

There's no way anyone they would want would take the job now for a couple of reasons:

1. Canning Petrino, while the right move, is going to tear their fan base apart and anyone coming in now - no matter who it is - will not be a popular hire.

2. Competitively you're taking on an entire roster of kids you didn't recruit and you're doing it after spring ball is over.

 

I am wheezing and crying from laughing at this. It's like I spent 20 minutes in a cornfield without my allergy meds.

 

UAB folks nervous that Garrick McGee will do a U-turn back to Fayetteville.

What of the suspicions that he basically hired her into the athletic department to carry on the affair? Is that playing into this, or did the affair start afterward?

 

Freq didn't work in an athletic department, as far as we can tell.
