Every single bit of goodwill Long is enjoying right now for his performance tonight would evaporate by mid-September. Can you see an 18-year-old kid seeking the spotlight getting excited about a visit from 'Ol Crooked 'Stache?

Figured Arky would cut his salary and authority - but it's actually not bad for the hogs they don't have to pay Petrino off (which they would have if the program went into the tank) and they still have bushels of money available for the next coach.
Shouldn't be hard to find another sleazy coach willing to take an SEC job.

Indiana tried to fire Kelvin Sampson for cause when he had his second run-in with the NCAA there. He sued. They had to pay him $750,000. Far less than was left on his contract, but not zero either.

And don't be surprised if Petrino gets an NFL assistant gig, much like Sampson got a NBA assistant gig despite how he got run out of Indiana.

 

Tressel's name also has cropped up, but I can't imagine such a hire would be allowed on the heels of the Petrino CF.
