His winning will not fulfill any prophecy of mine. I just see him like ARod and get annoyed, that is all.
You can ask anyone on this board who I am a fan of in the NFL and believe you me, I wish Manning was going against the Seahawks tomorrow and that he would have a Rex Grossman-type day.
But, alas, the Seahawks failed - and since they lost to the Bears, I can't root for them - so, I am rooting for the Colts.

And who is the best player on the Yankees? I love me some Derek Jeter, but he sure as hell isn't. The only player better than ARod on the Yankees is Mariano Rivera.

You could argue Rivera, Jeter, hell, even Cano. Cano hit 50 points higher than A-Rod and he made how much less?

    Cano bats ninth.

Cano is good, and he did have a better batting average, but how many fewer homers and RBI did he have? And if ARod got to hit in the order where Cano does, then he would have less pressure and would probably do even better. Jeter had a hell of a season, and I love Derek Jeter, but, he is not as good as ARod.

I understand the math wizards getting into the Jackie Smith drop, but that entire game unfolds differently if he catches it. And it wasn't like that was on the final drive and cost the Cowboys the tying points. The Steelers were up three scores and Dallas needed a wild comeback to make it close.

And the '84 Dolphins won big in the conference championship because the Steelers' cornerbacks that year couldn't cover. At all. That Miami team was nowhere near as good as the '78 Cowboys.

You're right, A-Rod is good, but given how much that guy makes, he's not as good as other guys producing equally or even less than he is given how much more The Boss pays him.

Cano batted .342 last season. I don't care if he batted 19th.

I can kind of give you that, but the Yankees aren't paying him $25 million a year thanks to Tom Hicks. He is making around Jeter and Giambi money, and for that he is worth it.
Personally, I am just enjoying having a baseball discussion in a football thread. Good stuff.
    So. Close. To. Spring. Training.

I like baseball much more than the NFL

You do know A-Rod is the fourth-highest paid Yankee, right? Because as Angola already pointed out, the Rangers picked up a large chuck of that contract. Not that salary is relevant to how good a player is, because a rookie could make $350,000 and still be among the best players in the majors.

Back to Manning, he's good. And his legacy will in part be dictated by how he plays tomorrow. And if the Colts win. Forget what happens five, 10 years down the road, I just want to see this game first.
