Places that made the Top 20: Nashville, Austin, Savannah, Memphis, Orlando.

Not in the Top 20: New Haven, St. Louis, Detroit.

    In other words, don't bother.

I'm amazed these magazines have the budget to travel across America sampling all these pizza places. ::)

    Jalapeno-sausage, bacon-onion and mushroom-extra cheese are my go-to toppings.

A favorite in our office is affectionately known as the Cranky Pig — pepperoni and sausage on all of it, with half getting mushroom and the other half getting bacon, pork and ham.
    It comes with a backstory.
When the XFL came out, we'd watch the games at the office while waiting for things to get turned in.
One particular night, we called a local pizza shop: "We'd like to order a large for delivery; half pepperoni, mushroom and sausage, and half pepperoni, bacon, pork and ham."
When it arrived, we noticed an enterprizing worker had written code on the box top to list what was inside. It stated: PMS/all pork.
Thus the Cranky Pig was born.

That list seems like a lot of bullsh#t.
I'm not buying NYC at 3 or Philly at 4. They've got to be 1-2.
Being a proud son of NJ, I know how much great pizza there is in the Garden State, but I'm not surprised no Jersey city made the list. If it was a state ranking, NJ'd be No. 1.

Bronx Pizza in San Diego is really excellent, but it's the only good pizza in the city.

San Francisco has a few great pizza spots. They didn't mention them, though.

You can no longer be taken quasi-seriously.

    I don't I've ever been taken quasi-seriously. I aspire to quasi-seriousness.

But seriously, I might be willing to consider Chicago at No. 3, but it is definitely after NYC and Philly.

Sounds like something worth checking out after spending the day bouncing between all of the breweries in Nelson and Albemarle. Ha.

People used to swear by Bottoms Up pizza before the flood, but since the flood, I have heard it's not the same.
