We are supposed to have single-digit lows five of the next six days. That's gonna suck.
I don't know what will be worse, the actual temperature or being stuck inside with my wife listening to her complain about what next month's electric bill will be.

@Driftwood, maybe it's what one of my friends' kids used to call "cavin feeble." I prescribe silliness. Seriously, a good laugh seems to cure an awful lot.

Don't know about a broken ankle, though. Speedy healing to Missus Micro, @micropolitan guy.

We got our first appreciable snowfall (about five inches) in more than two years yesterday.

The kids have been outside playing nonstop since yesterday morning, but temps are supposed to fall all day and bottom out at -4 overnight.

Fifteen degrees and the roads are glaze iced here. No ice storm, still have power. This too shall pass.

Best of luck to all of y'all in the frozen tundra.

Boss basically told everyone that they could switch to remote today, which was fine since I didn't really want to deal with idiot drivers this morning. A couple of inches down here but freezing rain and ice in the morning, which is gross. Only supposed to fall to 14 down here.

Gonna have to brave the roads and look at buying a car this afternoon.

It's 70F, but those roads are wet!

Last day of brutal temps here. Got to minus-19 this morning. Since Friday, our lows have been minus-1, 0, minus-13, minus-19, minus-19.

Tied for coldest January day in 61 years. Ties for second-coldest temperature in 34 years.

Supposed to get into the 30s today, which we haven't been since Thursday afternoon.

I was afraid of being too Grinch-like about the snow. It's been a long time since it's been this deep and hung around this long. Thing is, two of the kids tried to sled down the streed for about five minutes and that's all I've seen of anyone playing in the white stuff. I'd love to get out and build something in it, but the ensuing conniptions and my own sense of self-preservation are keeping me inside.

There are two reasons for being concerned. What is this doing to storm recovery? There's also the water table. Will this cause it to get dangerously high?

I'll go back to chatting up crazy folk and writing booger jokes now.

@OscarMadison my nieces and nephews were having a fine time in the stuff yesterday about an hour-ish east of you. Hopefully not so much today since the windchill has gone from obnoxious to life threatening.
