They're looking at Hurricane Harvey level flooding on the San Jacinto River. "The river is expected to rise to 77 feet above sea level by Friday. The water level will be several feet below where it was during Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Hidalgo said. Typically the river is 45 to 50 feet above sea level, she said.."

Summer heat hits Asia early, killing dozens as one expert calls it the "most extreme event" in climate history - CBS News

"Authorities in neighboring Bangladesh were forced to close all schools twice over the last two weeks amid the heat wave, and temperatures soared to nearly 110 degrees on Monday.

Several areas in Myanmar have recorded record high temperatures around 115 degrees, with a much higher heat index. The heat Index is a measure of what the temperature actually feels like, taking into account humidity, wind speed and other factors.

The heat wave conditions have been brutal in Southeast Asia, too. In the Philippines, authorities closed thousands of schools as vast areas of the country experienced drought and temperatures up to 111 degrees — unprecedented for the region in early April."

It gets flipping brutal in all of Southern Asia. The highest heat index ever recorded was 178ºF in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia on July 8, 2003. Dew point was 95ºF. That must've been the mother of all caps because no cap in the Southern Plains can hold down that much moisture.

We've got winds pushing over 80 mph blowing off the Rockies today and for several days. It's been wet and it's not hot so hopefully no fires.

Here on the Arkansas state line, they are predicting tornadic storms after midnight from that same system. Tornados during the day and evening are bad, one hitting at 2 am would be much worse.
