Rain turning to quarter-sized blobs of snow here in Minnesota, but it was 50 twice this week and this winter has been mild, so, oh well.

So I’ve recently stumbled into being a co-owner of a 25-person company in Denver. My supervisors were telling me today not to worry too much about power going out (all employees work from home) but to definitely worry about employees ditching work to get out and play in the deep stuff. Apparently there has been much snow in Denver over the past couple of years?

We're about 36 hours out. Grocery stores were jammed yesterday. I drove by a couple of them and didn't even try. Will try here in just a bit.

I enjoyed not having to wear a jacket to work this morning.
Starting Friday, we have anywhere from a 40 to 70 percent chance of rain every day for the next week.

Snow events don't often impress me, but, holy shit. I guess the folks in Boulder and Fort Collins aren't going anywhere for a bit.

    USA Today:

One of the biggest snowstorms in years, perhaps decades, is forecast to blast the Denver metro area with several feet of snow this coming weekend.
"The storm has the potential to rank among the biggest on record in Denver," AccuWeather meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.
The storm should be a long-duration event, from Friday through Sunday, that could result in snowfall totals nearing 2 feet in Denver and piling as high as 3 feet in places west of Denver, such as Boulder and Fort Collins, AccuWeather said.

Y'all keep 'em straight up there!

Someone needs a geography lesson. True, Boulder is northwest of Denver ... But Fort Collins?

Boulder is not considered a Denver suburb. Obviously, Fort Collins isn't either.

Expect monster totals in places such as Pinecliffe, Rollinsville, Nederland, Evergreen. The gambling towns of Black Hawk and Central City will get slammed. Coal Creek Canyon.

But ... these things wobble. This one has too. Just where it comes in is key. Right now, looks like Colorado Springs will miss out, but if it wobbles to the south, they could get hit.

Here's this morning's update from the NWS. Waiting for an update from one of the more reliable sites that I read.

I must say again how much I despise the snow......BUT......if I were to get snowed in somewhere.......a cabin way up in the mountains around Denver fully stocked with oodles and oodles of beer and a fully functional WI-FI wouldn't be a bad idea.

Damn straight. I know lots of folks hate the snow. I like it purely for the benefits of it. Moisture over drought/wildfires all day, every day.
