Police want to question Pacman Jones about triple shooting in Vegas

Sorry, but I don't think the continuing troubles of a troublemaker is worth passing up the focus on the combine, draft, free agency, etc. Maybe Jones is more of a key part on the team, but not at the expense of others.

I think Alley just hates bloggers and is going to disagree with everything he says.

    I'd send someone out there.

It's a shame you make an assumption about me without knowing a damn bit of truth. I don't hate bloggers but I also don't mess with him because I have a large amount of indifference.

I just don't feel Pacman is worth what BigLead is suggesting. Plain and simple.

Don't assume so much, man. It makes you look bad.

Ok, now that the story has reached critical mass (ESPN!), what are your thoughts, Alley?

The draft is in what, 60 days? It's two months away. Absolutely nothing that happens in the next 3-4 days will heavily impact the draft.

To date, this is THE top offseason story of the Texans. He's a starter. One of the premier kick return men in the NFL. If you're living in Nashville, how would you have to feel going elsewhere (the internet) for details on your team's top offseason story? And dealing with AP copy in the local paper?

If one of the West Virginia papers sends someone to Las Vegas and puts out a massive Sunday piece ... it'll just be more egg on the face of the local paper. Remember, these are the same softies who allowed Jeff Fisher to dictate what they could write about Vince Young getting snaps leading up to the Dallas game (at least i think it was the dallas game).

We need a running Pacman Jones trouble thread. We could pin in to the top of the board.

I'm with Hammer on this one.

And perhaps I'll be hit with derision from the board on this one, but I still think Pacman isn't the issue. The much bigger issue is the violence surrounding athletes in general and how they're perceived in society.

He's a top 10 NFL pick, been in the league less than two years (right?) and he's been arrested/written-up/questioned by police seven times (i think that's the # i heard on Mike & Mike this morning).

Alley - Did you also think the Ray Lewis-Buckhead incident wasn't a big deal?

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/02/23/jones.ap/index.html

New Tennessee general manager Mike Reinfeldt said Friday it's possible cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, now entangled in a melee and triple shooting at a Las Vegas strip club, will not be on the Titans' roster this season.

Reinfeldt was asked at the NFL Combine if such a scenario exists after reports and speculation of Jones' alleged involvement in the incident, he replied, "I would assume there is that potential."

Still think Pacman 'isn't the issue?'

TBL, since it's pretty obvious I don't work at a Tennessee newspaper, why are you spending so much time and effort trying to convince me this is a story worth sending a reporter on the road to cover?

But since you're asking, no, I still believe Pacman is an example of what's wrong, but not THE issue. The issue is young athletes with far too much money putting themselves and others into dangerous situations for questionable reasons.

If it makes you happy, though, keep trying to convince me.

Guess I just like a spirited debate. At the heart of your issue - what went down this weekend Young, black athlete with money to burn (or throw away, at least), flaunting it in Vegas All-Star weekend.

Is there a better lede to your story some witnesses from Pacman's incident telling you about how he lugged the garbage bag in the club, whipped out 81k and started tossing it in the air?

Do you mind if i ask if you're an editor or writer? You can PM me if you'd rather do that. I'm just interested. That's all.

    Just did some figuring:
A stack of 81,000 singles would be 29.025 feet high.
Placed end-to-end longways they would run about 7.85 miles.
    Sideways only 3.333 miles.
