Springsteen: "Held Up Without A Gun", "Stand On It", "Open All Night"

Metallica: "Ain't My Bitch", "Hero Of The Day"

U2: "Electric Co.", "Out Of Control"

    Rush: "YYZ"

Stones: "Jig Saw Puzzle" is a great call. Some other terrific "obscurities" on Beggar's Banquet: "Salt Of The Earth", "No Expectations". Another amazing Stones song that hardly ever gets played: "Sway"

Beatles: "Dr. Robert", "The Night Before"

    Boz Scaggs: "Breakdown Dead Ahead"

    Excellent choice SC...

Another Leppard song that doesn't get a lot of mention is Comin' Under Fire.

    Rush -- Losing It
Zep -- Since I've Been Lovin' You
    Elvis Costello -- Riot Act
    Butthole Surfers -- 22 Going On 23
    Sugarcubes -- Cowboy
    Big Country -- The Crossing
    The Pixies -- Vamos
Rolling Stones -- Let It Loose (maybe not obscure enough, but there were four or five songs off of Exile that got more air play. And this has the best backing vocals ever.)
    Jackson Browne -- Rosie
    Police -- So Lonely
    Iron Maiden -- The Prisoner

    The Who: "The Ox"

    Queen: "Put Out The Fire"

Police: "So Lonely" is a great choice, as is "Nothing Achieving" and "Born In The 50's"

Great call. It totally shreds the original, just like "Twist And Shout" did.

I'd also have to nominate "I've Just Seen A Face" and "I'm Down," both of which were recorded on the same day as "Yesterday," and "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party," a cut from "Beatles for Sale"/"Beatles '65" and also the flip side of "Eight Days A Week."

My favourite obscure Elvis Presley songs - "Mean Woman Blues," from the movie "Loving You," and "Trying To Get To You," which was to have been released as a single by Sun but got lost when RCA bought his contract and put out "Heartbreak Hotel" instead.

i appreciate jackson browne making any list, but "rosie" isn't too obscure. it was a huge success on his hugest album.

might i submit: "sky blue and black," a later offering when j.b. was off many people's radar screens? ???

    Playing off some earlier mentions:

    Who, "Success Story"

    Stones, "Star Star", "Some Girls"

    Counting Crows. "Omaha"

And another vote for Zep's "Hot Dog"
