    Junkie --

Did you set out on a quest to have the worst musical taste possible, or did it evolve naturally?

And I ask as a closet REO fan.

"Roll With The Changes" is the best REO song.

Wasn't sure I had anything to add to this, but one does occur to me:

    R.E.M. - World Leader Pretend

First song they ever released with published lyrics.
I read recently that Stipe said he was consciously trying to write a Leonard Cohen song.

A little defensive, are we, Junk?

Is commercial popularity your main reason for liking these bands?

The crazy PJ diehards started a campaign to get the band to play Breath in concert, since they almost never did.

Eddie and the boys walked out on stage for an encore at MSG one night only to be greeted by a few thousand placards that read, "Breath". Eddie mumbled something but they didn't play it.

Next night, same thing, only this time, Eddie says, "Alright, fuckers..." And then they played it. there are pictures floating around the internets somewheres...

  12. "Pure and Easy" is a great Who call. I'd add "Sunrise" from Sell Out, "In A Hand Or Face" from By Numbers, and the Underture from Tommy. I love that riff, even at the end of "Rael."
