I have no idea what this means, but Paterno is now dead, so how is Posnanski supposed to ask the tough questions? At the time of that statement, Sandusky had not been convicted, and the depth of Paterno's knowledge was not known. Except by the psychics who knew that he had known all along.

Nothing stands out in my memory about off-the-field issues, but I was just saying people that say he never write anything negative are wrong.

The single hazy event thing was bad. Some of his more recent tweets make me wonder if he was able to look at it more objectively as time passed and the shock wore off.

Posnanski has an amazing ability to observe a situation and get to the heart of it. He usually uses that ability to write positive stories, but I think he's capable of writing this.

It will be incredibly interesting to see what this book turns into.

Urging the dismissal of the manager of a shitty, doomed Royals team and an expository book on a full-bloomed habitual liar who covered up the crimes of a serial child molester ... are different things.
    No minor distinction there.

Nobody said otherwise. But the point is that he deserves the benefit of the doubt until, you know, we can read the book.

Reading the reviews will do fine.
No doubt complimentary in these parts.

You're such a Lone Wolf badass. It's such a pleasure to be former Internet friends with someone who has the courage to standup to Internet "groupthink" whether he's actually has an opinion about the subject or not.

Posnanski certainly opened himself up for criticism and doubts early on after the shit hit the fan up there, and I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if his emotions and preconceived notions got in the way. I wouldn't be surprised if he nailed it either; he's certainly capable. I hope that's the way it goes. I'm anxious to find out.

I have no interest in waiting to see if he nails it or not. He can't possibly. No sirree. ::)

Shortly after CNN reported the emails he tweeted that it was all in the book. I took that as a good sign, a sign he was still working and digging and not afraid of what he might find.

I'm now torn between using either Lone Wolf Badass or Excellent Horse-Like Lady for the name of my fantasy football team.

If you use Lone Wolf Badass, there is one rule. If any player in your fantasy league starts to receive too much praise from the mindless BORG! owners who don't see the world in its rugged realness the way you do, you have to immediately declare that player is actually a pussy, even if he is hitting .400, and anyone who tries to reason with you and explain why you're wrong has committed the mortal sin of condescension! which is literally the worst thing a person can do. You see, it's not up to the Lone Wolf Badass to form opinions or be actually informed about the players in your league. He just has to know who everyone else thinks is good to he can stand courageously alone, sneering that he doesn't buy into their popular elitist theories.
