Old story . . . where else are the wingnuts going to go?

Being taken for granted's a bitch.

    Get used to it.

And was bat-shit senile for about the last three years of his term. (Not that he was any intellectual titan to start out with.)

A McCain/Powell ticket would be 72 and 71 on Inauguration Day. On most actuarial charts, the odds would be better than 50-50 that at least one of them wouldn't live out a two-term presidency.

The Pubes have to try to develop some young blood -- i.e, somebody under 65.

  3. And it was the people who hate McCain who ran Colin Powell out of the race last time, by whispering about his wife's "mental problems." Swell folks.

You can cross Huckabee off the list.

No, you can't. Hasn't every VP who came out of the primaries said the exact same thing?

You're right Fen. Those people are the dinks I hope to run out of the Republican Party. I made a decision this weekend. If McCain, who I still say is the best person running for president out of the three left - OK four, although Huck is a joke - does not win, I have decided to officially join the Republican Party and bust my ass to finally clean house. I'm just as sick of the religious right as all you lefties are.

Sure I believe abortion should be outlawed - but that's not a religious thing for me, I truly believe it to be murder.

I don't know what I as one person can do, but I plan to do whatever it takes to make a difference.

I don't vote for McCain because he's Republican, I vote for the man because he is the nation's best hope in the next four to eight years. He is a true leader and the closest person I have ever personally met that truly epitomizes what it is to be an American Hero. I know most will take this as a joke, but I put the guy right up there with George Washington and the like. And no, he did not fight in the Revolutionary War with Washington.

I know Fen and others will say I am just brainwashed or something like that, but the truth is that this guy is who we thought he was. Now I say let us crown his ass!

Of course. Nobody says he wants to be VP, until he's actually selected.

  8. I wish there were more of you. I wish that McCain were still one of you.
If he'd run, all year, on his "agents of intolerance" speech, I'd have cheered him all the way to Des Moines and back. Hell, he couldn;t have fallen any FURTHER behind at the beginning, or pissed these people off more than they hate him anyway. But he didn't. He went out of his way to make nicey-nice. I lost every ounce of respect for him that I ever had.
However, if they throw a snit, and stay home, and cost the R's the election, I guarantee you'll hear from them that the Republican party should have nominated a "real conservative." This is a phenomenon with which D's are not unfamiliar. Except I think your irreconcilables have more money.

Fenian-- based on the flaws that you have pointed out in every candidate, I've come to the conclusion that no one currently running for either party is qualified to be President.

Unless someone else steps up, the next 4 years are going to be very long ones.

  10. And I think you're just being a jackass here.
Have 21's folks invited y'all for Valentine's Day?
