    They played "Lovers and Friends" by Michael Sterling on the old school show a couple weeks ago and it's been stuck in my head ever since then. It was turned into a rap song a few years ago, but that was a poor imitation of the original. Structurally the song is kind of all over the place, kind of in the soul tradition of mixing spoken word and vocals in various registers, but that's what keeps it unique and inspiring to me personally.

    "Here Comes the Sun" -- The Beatles

    It's rare for a vinyl fan like me to say this, but I think the sequencing of this song on the Abbey Road CD works better than on the LP.

    You have the droning, noisy pattern that abruptly ends at the end of "She's So Heavy," then after a quiet second or two, George's laid-back guitar intro starts. It's a great contrast, made even more striking by not having to flip the record over.
