    I've been listening to Liz Phair's "Exile in Guyville" the last couple of days. For my money, one of the best albums of the '90s and her best by far.

    That album holds up really well. She might not be 6-foot-1, but the lyrics to "Divorce Song" and others pack a punch like a heavyweight.

    I really like the guitar work in "Mesmerizing." A song of the early, eager first days of a relationship. Don't we all want to be mesmerizing to the object of our affection?

    "Never Said" and "Divorce Song" are brutal examples of how men can just casually treat a woman with cruelty. "When you said I wasn't worth talking to, I had to take your word on that." Fuck, man, we're assholes.

    "Glory" and its companion song, "Flower," are maybe the hottest songs about sex ever recorded.
