    We could live
    For a thousand years
    But if I hurt you
I'd make wine from your tears
    I told you
    That we could fly
    'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why

"Little Child of Mine" -- Fleetwood Mac (1972 edition).

Live in Seattle, just before "Bare Trees" came out. A severely overlooked era of that band, between the Peter Green beginnings and Lindsey/Stevie lineup.

That's the lineup I saw at my first real concert. Deep Purple on the Machine Head tour on a double bill with the Mac. Fine show.

Nah. That's a great, fabulous pop song, but the bassline isn't all that. I can think of a number I'd put up way ahead. Beatles "Come Together". Yes, "Roundabout". Stevie Wonder, "I Wish". Michael Jackson, "Billie Jean". That's just off the top of my head, and it does not even consider all the Motown bass lines that James Jamerson laid down. Try Marvin Gaye's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Look at any double Motown's greatest hits and think about those songs. Soooo many.

Pull up "I Wish" off of Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life" and try not to get caught in that groove. I listened to most of that album yesterday, and there are so many good songs on it.

I don't mean to crap on "Crazy", it's a great song. I just never thought of it as a particularly great bass line.
