I took my son to Memphis to see Michael Jordan and the Wizards against the Grizzlies, and Issac Hayes sang the National Anthem. It was one of the best renditions of the anthem I've ever heard. Hayes still had the deep soulful voice I first enjoyed as a kid when I bought a 45 of the Theme From Shaft. My son, who was 13 when we saw the game, said it sounded a lot like Chef on South Park. I informed my son that Hayes was the voice of Chef, and I think he was more impressed with that than seeing Jordan play.
