I think a lot of Sanders supporters, like me, would definitely vote for Biden, even reluctantly. Others won’t. It won’t be out of spite, but for some who feel that a progressive agenda in this country is long overdue, Biden isn’t much different than Trump, policy-wise.

Sure, he’d be a bit of an upgrade and less of an embarrassment. But the cost of higher education likely won’t change much, millions will still be burdened by student and medical debt, climate change won’t be attacked as aggressively and income inequality will continue. That, frankly, is a deal breaker for some progressives.

Agreed with you on everything until this part. Biden received less than 15 percent of the Super Tuesday vote from Under-30 voters and in some states it was well below 10 percent. He also did not do well with the Latino vote, which is expected to be the largest non-white voting block in the general election. I wouldn’t say that Biden has greater mass appeal.

He also has plenty of baggage. Against Trump, he’ll repeatedly have to explain his vote to send us to an endless war, and he’s going to have to explain to industrial Midwest swing states like Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania why he supported disastrous trade agreements like NAFTA and PNTR with China that eliminated thousands, if not millions, of union jobs. Democrats cannot afford to lose those states if they want to beat Trump.

Sorry, but that's crap. Plenty of Sanders supporters stayed home last time out of spite and that would be the primary motivator again.

President Trump is a disaster. He finds new ways to demonstrate as much on a daily basis. Biden is closer to what a Sanders supporter would want. Staying home just because your guy didn't win the nomination would be childish, selfish and stupid. Unfortunately, we have plenty of those things in this country right now.

The real bottom line is Bernie Sanders is a 78-year-old man who just had a heart attack. There is legitimate reason to question his ability to even make it to election day, but his supporters want to bet on him handling the rigors of being president for four years?

Biden is a whole year younger and has been far less energetic and mentally competent on the campaign trail.

But I’m with you on the rest.

I’ll vote for him but I don’t see that guy rolling through 8 years in the WH.

I don't think Biden sees himself rolling through eight years in the WH either.

I am interested in seeing the candidates stretch out their policies a bit now that they have some elbow room. Biden needs to move beyond just a "reset" to 2016. The world has gotten worse in the last four years, and in addition to stablizing our federal infrastructure, the next President needs to have a vision of moving the country forward and deal with problems before they are problems.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if he lasts four. He's still my choice over Bernie or Trump.
