    Take the advice others have given. Just show up and say you're starting today. The editor is probably too busy to remember talking to you anyway.

    There's great eats at the legendary Hickory Park in Ames, but on that salary you'd be lucky to eat it twice a year.

    As I've said before, the suits don't give a flying fig about quality. Just make deadline and don't libel anyone. And try to do without overtime (if that's possible).

    Or take all the overtime you want, just don't even think about turning it in. Volunteer all the time you want.

    Anyone hear anything on this one yet? I know the paper was sold right after Thanksgiving and the publisher left. That's all I know so far. Are they still filling the position?
