When I look at our country I don't see
The place I want it to be
Somewhere along the line we slipped off track
One step up, two steps back

Mike Lindell is the biggest threat to… his own pillow empire.

Imagine beating substance abuse, building a business that durable and self-sustaining and throwing it away for Donald Trump, of all people.

Like Giuliani and everyone else Trump comes in contact with, vampirically drains of usefulness and then leaves by the side of the road.

I heard a radio report on NPR that said those rental asssistance vouchers have a backlog of "years" - seriously, what is the point of that? Might be better to give immediate vouchers for up to 18 months. If the person can't find an affordable place or the income to cover the rest without the aid - they should move.

You think Rudy has ever run a weed whacker in his life?

It’s interesting. Vouchers usually cover, you know, a mediocre housing environment. Trick is finding landlords who will take vouchers, and also need to fill units. At the moment, most people aren’t moving. Or, they hadn’t been. The eviction moratorium generally forced prices upward on available units, which in turn left the vouchers worth less.

I assume we’re talking about Section 8 vouchers? Good luck finding individual landlords who will take them. My parents had Section 8 and had real trouble finding a place. It also set my parents back quite a bit because one had to stop working so we could meet the income threshold, so it pretty much guaranteed poverty for a few years. Another case where a government program intending to do good perpetuates poverty.

How exhausting must it be to wake up every morning convinced that some bizarre conspiracy is out there to screw you and your political beliefs and your heroes over, day after day?
Or wake up convinced that a simple injection to keep you from dying of a virus is a plot hatched by Bill Gates and other billionaires to control your life.
I wouldn't think it's possible to enjoy life under those circumstances.

I know longform writers like to provide a lot of details, but the first half of the story (when I quit) covered everything but what color socks he was wearing.

There is absolutely no way the 2024 election takes place without at least sporadic violence throughout the country.
