I'm naive enough to think that if there had been testimony that Trump had pressured the DOJ and six states to overturn the vote, even the R's might have done something. I guess I'm stupid that way.

You know damn well this sort of testimony and documentation wasn't available at that time.

But people in power have been saying he broke the law since he walked into the White House. It's been said so many times, in fact, it is hard to distinguish between "we really mean it," "we really, really mean it" and "we really mean it and it's actually possibly true!" When everything is a crime, it has a habit of making nothing a crime.

I'm not suggesting Trump hasn't broken numerous laws and done bad things and is in general a bad person. I'm saying the messaging is so relentless so as to have ended all nuance.
