I covered a trade group event at the Trump DC hotel that Grassley spoke at in 2017. He starts talking...and rambling...and rambling some more. People suffered sprains from excessive eyerolls, staff and attendees alike. "He was worse last year," one person said to me.

Right-wing Tennessee pastor Greg Locke is pushing false claims that an executive order signed by the state's Republican governor authorizes "camps" for those unvaccinated against COVID-19.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says state education board can move to withhold the salaries of supervisors and board members who implement mask mandates - CNN

 

Miami super apparently says bring it. Protecting the kids is worth his salary.

 

Good for him, but DeSantis is still a fucking menace.

 

Yes. I know. But people are starting to stand up to him.

 

I really wish someone would ask these people if they were willing to bet a year’s salary on their BS ideas occurring. Watch them hem and haw.

 

Sounds good. The Miami super should also ask DeSantis if he’s willing to pay his salary to the families of kids who die on his watch.

 

Florida is a very big state. The grim percentages of covid indicate that it is inevitable that one child will be the first to die of the virus within a month or two of schools reopening. That dead child will be the face of every ad run against DeSantis on TV when he runs for re-election next year and if he runs in 2024. He's not even making a good if evil political bet here.
