    They could evacuate 700 thousand and someone from CNN will shit on it, never mind the Big Bad Wolf Network.

    As far as the Taliban saying Aug. 31 is the deadline ... make no doubt about it, we're telling them when the deadline is, not "requesting." They make a stink about it and we're sending a cruise missile up the mullah's donkey's ass.

    When did we start telling the Taliban things, not making requests? Was it when they took over the whole country and overran Kabul like they were taking a walk through central park, or was it when they blocked off all of the roads around the airport and decided who could and couldn't could get through?

    We can tell the Taliban anything we want to, nothing we say is going to keep them from machine gunning the crowd outside the airport or sniping at the people inside. If the word comes down that it's now open season on Americans, the cease fire is over.

    Since Aug. 14, the US has helped more than 80,000 people evacuate from Afghanistan. For all the talk of how much of a clusterfuck this has been, that's still pretty good.
