In some cases it is harassment, in others outright suppression. When Alabama put in a voter ID requirement, it promptly closed the driver's license offices in the Black Belt in south Alabama, counties where the population is heavily black. I also find it hard to believe it's a coincidence that heavily black precincts across the country are often short of working or enough voting machines, resulting in lines that last three hours or better after the polls close.

How can someone who graduated from West Point and Harvard Business School be so lacking in critical thinking skills?

If I cared enough, I'd do some investigative reporting. It'd probably turn up that he didn't get an MBA at HBS, that he actually did some month-long professional development program or something like that. He was probably branched finance out of West Point and sat around in the rear with the gear and came home and told everyone he was a big-time hero. He's probably the first guy to yell about stolen valor while also having served in a role generally reserved for conscientious objectors.

Very rare does a commissioned officer get a REMF branch right off the bat. Usually they serve their first hitch in the combat arms (infantry, artillery, armor, etc).

True, I was exaggerating a bit - he was probably a combat support officer out of USMA. Graduating firsties do, however, have their choice of branch, ahead of ROTC grads - so if you're pretty high up in the class and you want Finance Branch, you can get it.

Much like he didn’t want to win, Trump would rather be the kingmaker, forcing everyone in the GOP to kowtow to his positions and whims. But he has too much ego for that.
