I am not a fan of Newsom. But when I saw the list Rep. candidates to replace him, after I threw up a little bit in my mouth, that confirmed I would probably vote NO on the recall.

Then, it turns out Larry Elder is the top candidate to replace Newsom should he lose, and that confirmed it.

How come every current Rep. who rises in prominence is more looney tunes than the previous? I will repeat what I told a friend who liked John McCain "until he became a traitor to his party." No, dear, his party became a traitor to John McCain.

 

I'm not going to go GOP but at least put up someone who has dignity and truly thinks that there is something that's best for everyone. Show some respect for the Country, your fellow citizens (whatever their plight and political and religious views), and the others in the world.

The wingnuts' response

 

In an unprecedented move, the outlet reported, Milley called a secret meeting of senior military officials at the Pentagon on Jan. 8 to review the process for military action — including launching nuclear weapons. He instructed those in charge of the National Military Command Center, the Pentagon's war room, not to take orders from anyone without his involvement.
According to CNN, he told the officials "No matter what you are told, you do the procedure. You do the process. And I'm part of that procedure." Milley then looked each officer in the eye and asked them to verbally confirm they understood his instructions.

 

I held onto my ballot for a couple weeks figuring i'd research if any of the candidates didn't suck or could beat Elder. The only other option was a real estate youtuber polling at like a third of what Elder was. I just voted no and left question 2 blank. Such a stupid, wasteful process.

 

But then again, think about all those voter contacts from people who dislike Newsom who aren't registered Republicans but gave all their info to the GOP during the petition drive. That's why a lot of these efforts get started - nothing but a data grab to find non-affiliated Republican-leaning voters in state's where the GOP is out of power.

 

Dipshits like Schlicter say Milley should be charged with treason. Why? Explain it like I'm 5.
