After Newsom’s victory, California Democrats seek changes to recall process

Among the changes I'd suggest would be a higher signature threshold and not putting the potential replacement on the ballot at the same time. Have the Lt. Gov. serve in the interim - or to the end of the term. A recall really needs to be about the governor's performance, not a compare/contrast with the knuckleheads waiting to replace him. It's a really flawed process in California.

 

My boss lives in Missoula each summer, working remotely. Even though he's only there three or four months per year, he loathes the Californians moving to Montana. Or Mon-tucky as he calls it.

 

Think this explains why I don’t see a caravan of moving vans from Cali coming down my street.

I’m trying to figure out the best place for the future. I think it might be Northern Michigan. With climate change if should remain temperate and there’s plenty of water. I don’t know if I can handle that much snow, though.

 

I’m not sure it’s conservatives who are by and large leaving.

 

A friend of mine and his wife actually just bought a place with the idea that it won't be so cold in a few years and it's just a few miles from the Canadian border if things get weirder down here.

 

Right now the UP is infested with Ted Nugent/Kid Rock wannabes and whacko militia survivalists.

I'm going up there in a couple of weeks for the fall colors and to bring back a shipping carton of pasties.

 

Sad but apparently true.

 

This is how North Idaho became one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. And among the reasons it's time for me to get out.

 

That pinhead is aiming for the slim space to the right of Governor MeeMaw.

 

I have read columns complaining that Newsom and the Democrats would not build more dams to deal with the drought. But what is the point of building more dams if we do not have enough water to fill up the reservoirs we already have?

 

Happily I'll be in and out of the UP well before the annual deer hunting insanity gets under way.
